Prawn

Prawn formed in Ridgewood, NJ, in the summer of 2007, when Kyle Burns joined Tony Clark, Jamie Houghton and Andrew Vilchez in the song writing process. Their first album, Basement Tapes, was written between the winter of 2007 and spring of 2008 and recorded in the summer of 2008. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band and finally released in October of 2008. Prawn played a few shows with bands such as Senses Fail, Moving Mountains, Pin Me Down and Sub Rosa (ex. Fenix TX) to promote Basement Tapes in late 2008.
Prawn did an East Coast tour in January of 2009, with shows that included Moving Mountains and Pompeii. Since then, Prawn has written a number of new songs that were recorded as their new EP, False Institutions, at Jesse Canon’s Canon Found Soundation studio with producer, Matt Mesiano, in Union City, NJ. False Institutions was mastered by West West Side studios and was released in June of 2009. The band then toured the US in the summer of 2009. Prawn plans to write new music and record a full-length album after their upcoming 2010 summer tour. (www.postrocking.com/post-rock-bands/prawn)
