12xu

If you google the name "12xu" you will find a d.i.y. hardcore punk radio and LOTS of song titles with the same name from bands like Minor Threat or Wire. But I also like a band with that obviously famous name 12xu. They play kind of emotive hardcore and they are from France. yeah. I like french people. Singer and guitarist Julien is from the french screamo band Daïtro (which I saw live at Fluff Fest 2008). 12xu got some pretty nice melodic punk rock songs and I would kill to see them live. They play some shows in germany this year. Check them out here.

Howard the Duck

statement on lastfm: Howard the Duck is Nick from Cape Coral, Florida. Previously in heavier bands, I wanted to do something different, something softer and more melodic. Influenced by 90’s pop punk and indie/emo (if you want to call it that), it’s just a sincere way of communicating through notes and rhythm.

Maritime

Maritime formed in 2003 out of the ashes of The Promise Ring and The Dismemberment Plan. Davey von Bohlen and Dan Didier called their friend Eric Axelson and formed the band In English. After they changed the name into Maritime they became very successful with their records. The second album We, the Vehicles is a pretty rad record with great songs (only!). Later Justin Klug and Dan Hinz joined the group. Singer and guitarist Davey von Bohlen with his emotional voice has a huge influence on the indie rock sound of the band.

malegoat is a japanese emo band influenced by great bands like cap'n jazz, OWLS, american football, braid, jawbox, fugazi and so on... (long list on myspace profile).
some fans call them "Jap'n Jazz". I think thats funny, haha...
